Account
Delete Your Account
Two ways to do it, and a plain account of what happens to your information.
How to request deletion
You can delete your Fuzzy Verify account yourself, from inside the app. You do not need to contact us first.
- In the app. Open Fuzzy Verify, go to Manage Account, tap Personal details, then tap Delete Fuzzy account and confirm. The request is processed immediately.
- By email. If you cannot access the app, write to accountdelete@fuzzywithsafeher.com from the email address on your account. We may need to confirm it is you before we act on the request.
You can also write to us at SafeHer, Inc., 115 E Ogden Avenue, Suite 105-365, Naperville, IL 60563 USA.
What we delete
When you delete your account, the following are removed from our systems:
- Your identity verification record, including the linkage between you and our verification provider, every module score, and the outcome of each check.
- Your verification assets, which are the stored results of the checks run during verification.
- Your profile photo, including the stored image object.
- Your verified profile, which is what made your badge resolve. Your badge stops working.
- Your memberships in any organization, and any delegate or inner-circle relationships attached to them.
What we keep, and why
Deletion does not erase every trace of an account. We are direct about this because a deletion page that overstates itself is worse than one that does not.
- A deactivated account record. Your account row is marked deleted rather than physically removed. It retains the email address and the sign-in identifier associated with the account. This prevents the same record being silently recreated and lets us honour a later request about the same account.
- A one-way fingerprint of your verified identity. When a verified account is deleted we store a salted, one-way hash derived from the verification provider's identifier. It cannot be reversed into your name, your document, or your face. It exists so that a person who is removed for abuse cannot immediately return by verifying again. We keep it indefinitely.
- Audit and billing records. Where a verification was performed for an organization that we bill, the ledger entry recording that a check happened, its outcome, and its cost is append-only and cannot be altered or deleted. It identifies the subject only by a keyed one-way hash, never by name.
- Records we are required to keep. Information we must retain for legal, security, fraud prevention, billing, audit, dispute resolution, or compliance reasons, for as long as the relevant obligation lasts.
- Backups. Copies of data can persist in encrypted, access-controlled system backups for a short period after deletion before those backups age out. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups.
Our profile photo storage keeps prior versions of an object. We issue a deletion for your photo when you delete your account, and a residual copy can survive in versioned storage for a period after that. We would rather say so than imply an erasure guarantee we cannot evidence.
Timing
A deletion request made in the app takes effect immediately. A request made by email is actioned once we have confirmed the request came from the account holder. Backup copies age out on our standard backup cycle.
One case where deletion is blocked
If you are the only Administrator of an organization on Fuzzy, deletion is refused until someone else in that organization takes the Administrator role. This stops an organization losing access to its own account. The app will tell you which organization is blocking the request.
